As a successful actor and director in TV for twenty five years, I have the experience as a teacher and acting coach to train the performer to make the most from their 4-6 minutes on camera. During seven years as the Performance Consultant on a CBS TV network program, I have viewed hundreds of on-camera auditions along with the producers and casting director.   I know what works for the actor to nail the audition, as well as what doesn't .

In this class the actor will learn to:

A) Prepare creatively for the audition

B) Explore the creation of a compelling character in a few pages of script

C) Learn the "dos" and "don'ts" of the screen test

D) Make a "cold reading" into a "HOT" one

E) Make bold choices in preparation

F) Become familiar with the terminology and technique of working on set

This class will be limited in size so that each actor will work every class; my studio has a two camera/playback format to best simulate the actual screen-test where they can see for themselves how the producers will see them.   Actors will be given sides to prepare, rehearse, be directed, go on camera and then be critiqued.    I have found this structure to be the most efficient for each performer to get the instruction and guidance necessary to get the utmost at their audition.

Interviews/Registration begin soon for Spring classes.

Classes will be $165 for each 4 week session. Contact parkslopeactor@gmail.com or phone 718.768.6452 from 10am to 6pm for further information and registration.
